सुखी माणसाची सायकल

गावामध्ये छोटी-मोठी श्रमाची कामे करुन रोजगार मिळवणाऱ्या श्री. सावळाराम विनोद आकेरकरसाठी (गाव-हुमरस) नवीन सायकल विकत घेणे ‘भगीरथ’मुळे शक्य झाले. सायकलची किंमत रुपये ४,७००/- एवढी आहे. यापैकी सुरुवातीला ५००/- रुपये संस्थेकडे जमा केल्यावर दुकानदाराकडून सायकल घ्यायची व पुढे दरमहा ५००/- रुपये प्रमाणे संस्थेला उर्वरीत पैसे परत करायचे. यासाठी फक्त आधारकार्डची झेरॉक्स यापलीकडे कोणत्याही कागदाची गरज नाही.

सरकारी योजनेमध्ये ‘सरकारी काम व सहा महिने थांब’ एवढी प्रशासकीय दिरंगाई होते. ‘भगीरथ’मध्ये अवघ्या ५ मिनिटात सायकल मिळाल्यामुळे लाभार्थ्याला झालेला आनंद वेगळाच असतो. आतापर्यंत १०० च्यावर लोकांनी अशाप्रकारे सायकल योजनेचा लाभ घेतला आहे. संस्थेकडे ते नियमित पैशांची परतफेड करतात. सायकल मिळाल्यामुळे फोटो काढताना 'स्माईल प्लिज' असे त्यांना सांगावे लागत नाही. एखादी गोष्ट सोपेपणाने मिळाल्याचा आनंद त्यांच्या चेहऱ्यावर दिसत असतो. सध्या भौतिक व आर्थिक स्तरापेक्षा तुम्ही आनंदी, समाधानी आहात का? या प्रश्नाचे उत्तर या फोटोतून न सांगताही मिळते. स्वयंसेवी संस्थेच्या जलद मदतीमुळे असे अनेक चेहरे उजळत आहेत.

Mr. Savalaram Vinod Akerkar (Village-Humras) is someone who earns by doing odd jobs. Buying a bicycle seemed quite a herculean task for him. But Bhagirath made it all a possibility. The bicycle costs around 4,700/-. Initially Mr. Akerkar had to deposit an initial amount of 500 rupees with Bhagirath and take the possession of the bicycle from the cycle shop. Later all he has to do is repay 500 rupees each month to Bhagirath Gramwikas Pratishthan. A photocopy of the Aadhar Card was all he needed for this benefit.

In a government scheme, waiting turns a moment into years. The administrative lethargy tricks us all. But the joy of getting a bicycle in 5 minutes with the help of Bhagirath is unique. Up till now, over 100 beneficiaries have experienced such a joy through the bicycle scheme. They regularly repay the installments to Bhagirath. The everpreset smile on their faces is of a proud owner and is not caused by a "smile please"! The happiness is because of the easy accessibility. The pictures are indicators of the index of happiness that Bhagirath consistently tries to achieve. The prompt help of an NGO like Bhagirath has lit up many faces and lives.
